leopardul

Panthera
Check out this camera trap footage of a leopard and her two young cubs from our partners at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology Pan Africa Programme, Chimp&See, in Gabon’s Batéké Plateau National Park. In addition to being incredibly cute, this footage represents a significant win for big cat conservation in Gabon. In 2001, this area was devoid of wildlife due to intense poaching – both lion and leopard populations were completely decimated. In 2002, Gabon designated this area as a national park, and since then wildlife has made an incredible comeback, thanks in huge part to the protection the park received from our partners at the Agence Nationale Des Parcs Nationaux Du Gabon.
