We send aid to 5 shelters on a regular basis . All the shelters,
situated in either Eastern Europe or Egypt, struggle on a daily basis
to find the funds to feed the rescued animals in their care. How
much we can send to help them, and how often, rests with you. We can
only send to them what we receive, be it money, wish list items, cat or
dog food. We understand there are many appeals for help - often for
animals that are sick or injured, or on the streets and that people feel
they wish to help these sad cases. However, we feel it is so important
not to forget the animals in shelters - their need is just as great -
after all there is little point in rescuing an animal and spending
money restoring it to health if there are no funds to support it's
ongoing care. Taking a homeless animal off the street is not the end
of the story, on the contrary it is just the beginning. That animal
must be supported with food, general medications
and veterinary care until it is found a home or if a home cannot be
found, for it to be cared for at the shelter for life. Please don't leave the shelters struggling alone after they have taken the animals into their care- they need ongoing support. Just 3 of about 80 dogs and 20 cats at Copii Ai Universului shelter- they are always short of food- can you help feed them?
